on the border

I love fajitas.  I mean, I love love love fajitas so much.  It is like the perfect combo of amazingness.  I don't usually eat the tortillas though, I make a big plate of food and eat chips with it all.  So more like a make your own nacho plate of awesomeness.  Grilled chicken, black beans, refried beans, guacamole, salsa, fresh jalapenos, sour cream, more salsa, grilled onions and veggies.  My 6 year old son feels the same way except its beans and chicken in a tortilla for him.  He can put away several of those in one sitting.  I have been excited all day because I wouldn't be home to make dinner tonight and needed to pick something up while I was out.  I needed to be two places at once and so my babysitter came over to take care of my 8 year old daughter after school.  My daughter had soccer practice at 4:30 today and my mother in law was flying back home from London and was arriving at 4:30.  Clearly I needed to order food from On the Border and pick it up on my way home from the airport.  At 2:00 today the soccer coach canceled practice.  This was exciting because now my daughter didn't have to miss out on picking up Grammy.  Or Gramster.  Or Gramcracker as my son likes to call her.  I was waiting for Gramster to text me when she made it through customs before I left for the airport.  I decided to go to this liquor store that was kind of on the way to the airport.  I heard they have Dry Dock Apricot Blonde beer for sale there and I couldn't get this out of my head.  That beer is from a local brewery called Dry Dock, here in Denver, or Aurora actually, or the hood.  This beer is SO amazing and delicious.  I first had that beer at one of my other favorite places, Dad's and Dudes Breweria, or DnD for short.  By BFF and I went to DnD three times a week when they had Dry Dock Apricot Blonde beer on tap.  I mean I even went to DnD for lunch with my BFF and then forced my husband and kids there for dinner in the same day.  And yes, I drank that delicious beer at lunch and dinner.  DnD doesn't have that beer on tap lately and so I have been missing this beer like crazy.   When my girlfriend invited me to Dry Dock Brewery at 2:00 two Friday's ago, I couldn't say YES fast enough.  It was like I died and went to heaven when I had that Apricot beer.  I wanted to get in the glass and swim around.  I found out they sell it in cans at a few local liquor stores and one of them was kind of on the way to the airport.  Now you see why I had to take that little detour.  My kids could care less because they were playing on my ipad and iphone in the back seat in electronic heaven.  Sad news!  They were all sold out of the Apricot Blonde.  Dude.  I had a moment there in the liquor store, but I pulled it together and grabbed the Dry Dock Hefeweisen.  How do you spell that word anyway?  I know that is wrong but spell check and I don't really know what I am saying. hefeweizen?  I asked about the Apricot beer and the guy said to come back everyday until they have it.  Haha.  That was a funny answer.  He was foreign and nice and very hard to understand and so I said ok I'll see you tomorrow!  Now my plan is to talk someone into going to Dry Dock Brewery with me on Wednesday for lunch.  There is no food at this brewery, only beer.  So I will need to pick my lunch date wisely.
